Dealing with colour is a complex topic: influenced by standards, fashions, and trends, we derive our ideas and concepts from colour theories, intuition, and personal preferences. Most colour classification systems available today are based on purely quantitative principles and include well over 1,500 colours. So how do we choose a particular colour?

Building on the success of the first edition, Katrin Trautwein presents a revised selection of 225 colours: new ones that develop a special beauty in the LED-light replaced some previous colors.

Each colour is presented with a handmade paint sample. Information on each colour’s composition and origin is provided, and the features that distinguish it for architecture and design work are described
